David sat in a crowded café, waiting for his friend. As he sipped his coffee, he overheard a conversation at the next table. A young man was venting about how lost he felt in life. David hesitated. Should he say something? Would the stranger be offended? Then he remembered when someone shared the gospel with him in a similar moment of uncertainty. Taking a deep breath, he leaned over and said, “Hey, I couldn’t help but overhear. I’ve been in a place where life felt empty. But I found something—or rather, someone—who changed everything for me. Can I share my story with you?” That small step led to a life-changing conversation. This story illustrates how simple moments in our daily lives can become divine opportunities to spread the gospel. Jesus Christ gave a clear command to His disciples just before He left the world, and consequently to us: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation” Mark 16:15. Since commands are meant to be obeyed, it is the responsibility of every believer to “preach the gospel to all creation,” this implies that every person we meet deserves and needs to hear the gospel. However, a question that often confronts us is: How do we share the gospel with others? Like David in the story above, we are often unsure of what to say, how to say it, and whether the timing is right. We may also feel inadequate to share the gospel. Here are some practical ways we can spread the gospel effectively: 1. Give Yourself Over to God Sometimes, our challenge is not that we don’t know how to share the gospel, but that we have not yielded ourselves to God. We are preoccupied with serving our own purposes and making ends meet. The gospel is not a priority. We are not seeking His kingdom first. Knowing how to spread the gospel begins with realigning our priorities. We must allow Jesus to become the Lord of our time. When we do, it becomes less difficult to find opportunities to share the gospel. 2. Live Out the Gospel The most powerful way to share the gospel is to preach it with your life. Live in such a way that, without speaking, people can see Jesus in you. No matter how many words we speak, our message will be ineffective if we live contrary to the Word of God. This is why Jesus referred to us as witnesses—people who have experienced and are experiencing the power of the gospel. It is easy to share what you have genuinely encountered. Jesus said, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden” Matthew 5:14. Isaiah 60:3 reinforces this truth: “The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.” Our lives must shine before others, drawing them to Christ. 3. Share Your Personal Testimony Your personal story is one of the most effective ways to share the gospel. While Bible stories are powerful, the gospel becomes even more relatable when people see its impact in your own life. A genuine experience of salvation is indispensable—you cannot give what you don’t have. Sharing your personal testimony is also a non-confrontational way to evangelize. People may not believe in the gospel yet, but they cannot deny your testimony. In John 9, the blind man who was healed by Jesus confidently told the Pharisees: “One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see” John 9:25. Paul also frequently shared his conversion story on the road to Damascus whenever he had the opportunity to preach. When you are unsure of what to say, your personal story is a great place to start. 4. Be Creative Avoid being too formal or rigid in your approach. Evangelism doesn’t require a professional method—just a willingness to be led by the Holy Spirit. Look for creative ways to start conversations about the gospel. Jesus did this often. He used language and situations familiar to His audience. When calling Peter and his brothers, He spoke in their terms as fishermen: “Come follow Me, and I will send you out to fish for people” Matthew 4:19. They immediately understood and followed Him. At the well in Samaria, Jesus used water—something the woman needed—to introduce Himself as the Living Water. Paul also applied this approach in Athens when he saw a temple dedicated to an unknown god. He used it as an entry point to preach Jesus Acts 17:23. There is always a creative way to share the gospel if we are sensitive to the Holy Spirit. 5. Engage in Practical Evangelism There are many simple yet effective ways to share the gospel, including: Using gospel tracts—Give them directly to people or leave them in strategic places. Inviting people to church or Christian programs where they can hear the God’s Word. Using social media and digital platforms—Write posts, share videos, or use live streams to reach a larger audience. Taking advantage of personal occasions—Weddings, birthdays, and special gatherings provide opportunities to introduce Christ. Ultimately, spreading the gospel starts with a willingness to obey the Great Commission and making yourself available. “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few” Luke 10:2. Will you enlist as one of God’s workers? God has promised to be with us as we share the gospel: “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” Matthew 28:20. Step out in faith and be a messenger of His Good News today!

Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. – 1 Corinthians 12:12 Ideally, I would like to refer to the body of Christ as the Church dwelling together in the spirit of oneness; consciously living out the faith without strife, envy or malice. The body of Christ, also known as the Church, is made up of believers, who are referred to as its members. These are those who had been called out of darkness (sin) into God’s marvelous light. In order to consider ourselves as members of the body of Christ; we must have received God’s gift of salvation through genuine repentance. Hence, it means that, salvation in Christ Jesus is the only requirement for admittance into the body of Christ (the Church). How Christians Are the Members of the Body of Christ As believers, we’re all members of the body of Christ because each of us is in a relationship with Christ. Therefore, that puts us (Christians) in relationship with one another. In other words, once a person gets into relationship with Jesus, Christ in turn brings such a one into a bigger relationship with members of His body (the Church). More so, we are also members of the body of Christ because: We’re joined to Christ through the salvation we’ve received (Philippians 3:9 and Ephesians 4:15-16) We follow Christ as our Head and the Head of the Church (Ephesians 1:22-23) We’re the physical representation of Christ on earth. Through us, Christ manifests His life and love to the world. We’re indwelt by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:9) We possess a diversity of gifts suited to particular function(s) (1 Corinthians 12:4-5) We share a common bond with other Christians, regardless of their race, ethnicity, denomination, intelligence, social status, or appearance. 1 Corinthians 12:25 puts this very clearly when it says, “There should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other.” We have full assurance of our salvation (John 10:28-30) We partake of Christ’s death and resurrection (Colossians 2:12). We have share in Christ’s inheritance. The union established between Christ and us, gives us access to share in His glorious inheritance. (Romans 8:17) We’ve received the gift of Christ’s righteousness (Romans 5:17). The Process of Adoption into the Body of Christ In Ephesians 5:30-32, Apostle Paul, who wrote by the leading of the Holy Ghost to the church at Ephesus; used the marriage union to illustrate the process of adoption into the body of Christ. He wrote thus, “For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.” This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Likewise, when a non-believer gets to the point of experiencing the new birth, he must leave his old life of sin by repentance; and cleave to Christ as Lord and Savior by faith. The moment that’s done, the sinner is adopted into God’s family. He then becomes a member of the body of Christ. Regular Church Attendance: A Sign of Commitment as Members of Christ’s Body Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. – 1 Corinthians 12:27 While addressing the early Christians as the body of Christ; Apostle Paul was simply referring to the deep unity that’s the foundation of our identity as Christians. By default, we share not just the same blood and spiritual DNA as Christians; we also relate in absolute unity. Evidently, Paul pointed these facts out to the church in Corinth; which was very divided at that time. Just the same way many Christians are today. In view of the foregoing, becoming and staying a member of a local church is basically one of the steps; that should be taken in order to declare and maintain our stand as members of the body of Christ. It’s a simple action that puts our commitment to Christ’s body into expression. The truth is, anyone who is supposedly a member of the body of Christ ought to identify fully with a local church. Although, some might be of the opinion that being in fellowship with other believers is actually not so important. However, I would like to remind you that the Bible sounded a serious warning in the book of Hebrews 10:25 against this when it said, “not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Evidently, staying away will only do more harm than good to your faith. Therefore, deal with the issues keeping you from taking the bold step towards church membership. On the other hand, if you have; make known your identity as a member of Christ’s body while maintaining that bond with the other members of the body. It’s important, we don’t trivialize the church! You have no idea, what it cost God to put the life of His Son on the line in order to make us members of His body. Conclusion Just as every part of your body is important, likewise, every believer is to the body of Christ. Every one of us has a role to play in it and that includes you! God has specially designed, determined and placed you as part of His body. More so, by the virtue of our salvation, we’ve been adopted into an intimate relationship with Him. We’ve been brought into a deep spiritual connection with other members of Christ’s body. Therefore, I see no reason why we need to struggle through Christianity alone when God has surrounded us with loving brothers and sisters in His fold. He has given strength to some to help others who are weak; honor to others to help those less honorable. This means that, regardless of our abilities, gifts; or position in life, we have an important role to play in the body of Christ where we’re all members.

One of the things that we Christians pray for is to be filled with the Holy Spirit. All we know about the Holy Spirit is that Jesus promised that he would come and help us with things including spiritual things. The Holy Spirit is part of Christianity, one of the main topics discussed in the church, how to be filled with the Holy Spirit, how to use the Holy Spirit, and how to activate the power. However, one thing that is scarce about the Holy Spirit, the scarce topic is, what is the Holy Spirit? As far as the Holy Spirit is concerned, I can say that not everyone knows what he is exactly – is the Holy Spirit “it” or “He”, is the Holy Spirit like Jesus? When Christians are asked what the Holy Spirit is, they find it hard sometimes to establish a convincing fact about who or what the Holy Spirit is. Indeed, the Holy Spirit is powerful, there are things associated with the Holy Spirit that seems popular – we pray for these things. I am talking of the fruits of the Holy Spirit and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. To get all of these, it is necessary to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Before explaining concisely what the Holy Spirit is, we will like to examine the power of the Holy Spirit and how to be filled with it. The Holy Spirit gives power. As Christians, we should know that we need the power to face whatever that may come our way. Acts 1:8a “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you.” What we wrestle against is not flesh but Spiritual hosts of evil (Ephesians 6:12) so what is needed to fight these powers is a greater power and we can get that through the Holy Spirit. One is not a Christian without the Holy Spirit because to act as a Christian, one must be filled with the Holy Spirit. To be filled with the Holy Spirit means to be filled with Christ and his power. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, he directs our steps and we will not be able to do the things of flesh which are sin. Galatians 5:16 “So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” The Bible certified it that those who walk in the Spirit are the true sons of God. Romans 8:14 “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.” We need to be filled with the Spirit, we should seek, and pursue it. How do we get this? Ephesians 5:18 “Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.” The “wine” when taken, you get drunk and do the things which are not right. It may not necessarily be wine as stated literally in the verse, it might be some other works of the flesh which leads to sin – but be filled with Spirit, doing the things of God. Romans 12:2. Jesus told the woman of Samaria about the water that he would give to people, water that springs up to eternal life. John 4:14 “but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst, but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.” That kind of water Jesus would give is the Spiritual one that will cause us to do things that will result in getting eternal life. The water stands for the Holy Spirit which he promised. Jesus is willing to give this to all believers – the Holy Spirit is a gift for every believer. The Holy Spirit is already available to every Christian. Having known all these, then what is the Holy Spirit or should we say, who is the Holy Spirit? Going back to the book of Joel 2:28 “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.” This is God speaking here about sending His “Spirit” to all mankind. God has a Spirit, according to Joel 2:28 – part of this spirit would be sent to mankind. When God says mankind, does that mean everyone? Believers and non-believers? John 4:24 says “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” God himself is spirit, to worship God, one must have a portion of this spirit in Him. That is the only way to connect to him. Jesus said something about being the way in John 14:6. If anyone must go to the father; 1. They must be in spirit because God is Spirit and the best way to connect to him is to have that portion of the spirit in them. 2. They must go through Jesus because Jesus is the way to the Father. These are two things about going to the Father [God]. this means that to get that spirit that can make us connect to God, we need Jesus Christ because he is the way. If we want to go to a live concert, there is a way we pass to the venue – along the way, we get our tickets to have access to the concert. In the same manner, we go through Jesus and we get the spirit to connect with God. That is to answer the question of who God will pour his spirit on. The answer is, He will pour it on the people who are in Christ. God had promised that He would send His Spirit on mankind – that is those who will believe in Jesus, the way to God. Jesus reminded His disciples about the spirit that had been promised. Jesus reminded them and assured them that the Holy Spirit will come. John 14:26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” On the day of Pentecost, the promise of God was fulfilled. Acts 2:4 “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” When people heard the sound, they were moved to check what was going on, Peter stood up, he explained to them what was happening. Acts 2:15-16 “For these are not drunk, as you suppose since it is only the third hour of the day. But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel.” Peter explained that it is the fulfillment of the promise of God that was prophesied by prophet Joel. Looking at all of these scriptures, we can conclude that the Holy Spirit is the spirit of God that was sent to mankind. The Holy Spirit is the third of the Trinity which are the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. According to some Bible scholars, the Holy Spirit is not just the spirit of God – just like God the Father and Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit is a real person. They also confirmed it to be true through the scriptures, Jesus is the word of God that became a person, the same way, a fragment of God, the spirit became an entity, which is the Holy Spirit. They both have different functions. Jesus came down to the earth to create a path that will lead to God, he opened our eyes to see the way and then saved us having the power of the world in his hands. The Holy Spirit, on the other hand, came after Jesus to teach also and expose things that we can’t know using psychology. The Holy is a person that keeps us glued to the path of Christ, he also helps us to know the right thing to do. Likewise, some also said, the fact that the Bible personifies Holy Spirit doesn’t mean that it is a person. The bible also personifies many other things that are not entities such as wealth, death, wisdom but they are not a person. Whatever the claims of these people are, the Holy Spirit is the spirit of God and we can hold on to that fact. This makes the Holy Spirit powerful. I see nothing bad in using “He” for the Holy Spirit so far God gave man to minister to them and teach them. Also, according to the scriptures, the Holy Spirit has emotions, He can get angry or sad. Isaiah 63:10. It is also advised not to talk bad against him. Matthew 12:31. The Holy Spirit is a divine person. There are many things the Holy Spirit is known for – the works. The work of the Holy Spirit is to establish the truth of Christ in the heart of men, to bring to men how bad sin is and how to stay close to God. The Holy Spirit has been since the time of the Old Testament – through the Holy spirit the books of the Bible were written. The “Spirit” in Greek is “Pneuma”, the same word used in the New Testament meaning “Breath”. The scriptures are breathed by God which means it is through the Holy Spirit that the scriptures were written. In the New Testament, the Holy Spirit manifested in different forms. The first was when Jesus went for baptism. Luke 3:22 “And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My Beloved Son; in You, I am well pleased.” This is the first form of the Holy Spirit. The second form is different from the first one and this came on the day of Pentecost. Acts 2:3 “Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.” The Holy Spirit appeared as a tongue of fire. The Holy Spirit is also the power of God that is sent to fill the Christians. Micah 3:8 “But truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the LORD, And of justice and might, To declare to Jacob his transgression And to Israel his sin.” It is the power of God in action and it is like an energy that helps to fulfill the will of God. Why Do Christians and Non Christians Need Help From God?
There are people, including Christians, who see God as a tyrant; an imposter whose will we must do whether we like it or not. Such Christians make us believe that they are under pressure by God to do certain things and there is nothing they can do about it. While it is true that God has a will for us in every situation; which is good. Romans 12:2 says, God’s will is good, acceptable and perfect. However, God does not enforce His will on us. He reveals His will to us and leaves us to decide on what is best for us. He has given us a free will to do what is best for us. This is revealed right from our creation when man was given the liberty to choose to eat the forbidden fruit or not. The following shows how God gives us a free will as humans; He Created Us In His Image (Genesis 1:26-27): This implies that we possess His nature and characteristics. We are His offspring. We have the ability, unlike angels, to dominate, exercise authority and take independent decisions at will like God over other creatures. He Shows Us the options that we have and the consequences (Deuteronomy 30:15,19). God was appealing to the free will of man and asking him to use it when He told him the implications of eating the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. If He has not given us a free will, there is no point showing us the right and wrong with their attendant consequences. He Want Sons Not Robots. Robots are programmed to perform a particular task. They do not do otherwise. Without freewill, we will simply be like robots destined to behave and live in a particular manner. But God wants mature sons and daughters who make informed decisions after careful consideration. This is why even Jesus had to choose to obey His heavenly Father. He makes Us Responsible for our actions: God will not be responsible for our actions or inaction. He will even hold us responsible for the decisions we make. This is why God didn’t accept the excuse of Adam when He said Eve was responsible. He was punished for his irresponsibility. He Gave Us A Will To Decide on What His Best For Us: The human will is the most powerful ability given to man by God. It is so powerful that man can use his own will against the will of God. God will work and reveal Himself in the life of man only to the extent the man allows Him. For example, it was the will of God for all the children of Israel who left Egypt to enter the Promised Land but they were unwilling to go ahead and inherit the land. They kept looking back to Egypt and they all eventually perished in the wilderness. If God had not given us a free will, then all men should be saved by now. God would have enforced salvation on all men. God might have a will for you but you must exercise your will to be in His will. Your will must align with God’s will in order to experience God’s best. We must choose what He has chosen for us. Isaiah 1:19 says, “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land” NKJV. The will of God is for you to eat the good of the land. But you have to be willing and obedient to eat the good of the land. How Do The Desires of Daily Living Take Control of Our Heart From God?
There is no other Christian doctrine that has defied our comprehension like the doctrine of the Trinity, yet this doctrine is basic to our faith. It is one of the doctrines that distinguishes a Christian from the rest of the world and all other faiths. To deny this doctrine is to renounce the Christian faith altogether. The word Trinity itself is not found in the Bible. It is coined to convey the concept or the idea, as taught by the Bible, that God who is eternally one exists in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Trinity speaks of the unity of God in diversity. Trinity also implies that “these three are one God, co-equal and co-eternal, having precisely the same nature and attributes, and worthy of precisely the same worship, confidence, and obedience.” In other words, One is not inferior or superior to the Others neither is One more powerful than the Others. They are inseparable. You cannot deal with the Father apart from the Son or the Holy Spirit. You are simultaneously dealing with the Others when you approach or call on any of them. Philip failed in His understanding of the Godhead when he asked Jesus, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us. Jesus’ answer to Philip is revealing. Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.” John 14:8-11 Right from the beginning, God gave us a hint into His Trilogy which would later be fully revealed. He said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness” Genesis 1:26. The 27th verse says, “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them” Now the question is, if “Us” and “Our” created man in verse 26, how did He change to “He” and “His” in the 27th verse. The simple inference we can make is this: The “Us” and “Our” in the 26th verse is equal to “He” and “His” in the 27th verse. He is three yet one. The dilemma in our understanding of the Godhead is simple; If God is One as recorded in Deuteronomy 6:4 and Mark 12:29, how then is He three – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit? Some have attempted to explain this concept with the three states in which water exists – liquid, solid (ice) and gas (steam) or the egg which is made up the shell, the egg white and the yolk. The universe is also trinitarian in design. It consists of three inseparable things: the matter, space and time. It would cease to exist if any is taken out. A man can also be a son, father and husband at the same time. Man is also known to be made up of the body, the soul and the spirit. All these are creatures of the Creator giving us glimpses into His personality – One yet three. However, these explanations of the Trinity do not completely unravel the mystery of the Godhead. It is puzzling trying to comprehend all of God with our brains. We should rather bow in faith and adoration to the Triune God who loved us as a Father and sent His Son to die for our sins and now lives with and in us forever by His Holy Spirit. Someone has rightly said, “If you try to explain the Trinity, you will lose your mind. But if you deny it, you will lose your soul.” Why Do Christians and Non Christians Need Help From God?

“It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8 Loneliness is an emotion that every person faces at some point in their life; and yet, though it may be common, it certainly isn’t desirable. Loneliness can be devastating; it can keep us from doing the things we want to do and living the way we want to live. And if we let it get the best of us, it can even change how we view ourselves. But as with all afflictions, we can be healed. Not simply with time, but with the help of a great Healer: Jesus Christ. When we’re at our loneliest, it can be difficult to believe that anyone actually cares about us. But the truth is that even when no one on this earth seems to care, God is with us always – especially in the midst of our pain. In a way, loneliness can help us to see that our worth does not come from other people, but from God, who pursues us no matter what. When we realize just how much He loves us, we begin to grow in our faith. We learn to trust Him and be satisfied right where we are. Sometimes, we simply need to be reminded that He is all we need. Now, this is not to say that we should live in loneliness forever. From the very beginning of creation, in Genesis 2:18, God declares, “It is not good for man to be alone.” Humans were made to be social; we laugh together, we cry together, and we bear one another’s burdens. Most importantly, we point one another toward Christ – or we should, at least. If you don’t currently have that kind of supportive spiritual community in your life, chances are, God is working to open up opportunities. God knows exactly what we need, and if we truly desire something that will glorify Him, He will not deprive us of it. In this situation, we should pray for patience and wisdom, so that we can wait faithfully and recognize God’s will for our lives. On the other hand, maybe it’s our turn to act. God may want to ease our loneliness, but we have to let Him. There are steps we can take to change our situation. For example, if you aren’t already involved in your church, get involved. Join Bible studies and other groups filled with people who share your interests and love for God. If you’re a bit on the shy side, don’t be afraid to step out of your bubble. God may just reward your faith with something unexpectedly amazing. There’s no telling the many ways in which God can transform our loneliness into joy. It may not happen overnight, but we have to realize that loneliness is just a season. And when we trust in Jesus, it, too, will pass. Why Do Christians and Non Christians Need Help From God?

Patience is defined as having the ability to accept, wait, tolerate delays without getting upset or angry and remaining calm despite the difficulties or suffering that it may cause. Did you know that God has chosen us and by this he calls for us to be patient? Yes, he does, in Colossians 3:12, “therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Abraham waited patiently and received what the Lord promised him. Hebrews 6:15. It is awesome that the Lord has patience with us although we do not deserve it. Quite often we fall short of what is expected of us and God knows that we are not perfect, and he is always patient with us. It states in 1 Timothy 1:16, “but I was given mercy so that in me, the worst of all sinners, Christ Jesus could show that he has patience without limit. His patience with me made me an example for those who would believe in him and have life forever. In our daily lives it seems that the day to day struggles we may have including problems at home, work, family, health or other types of issues that may seem to be so overbearing at times that our patience is tested. It’s so good to know that no matter what we may be going through God will always provide us with the comfort of knowing that he is always here with us to help us whenever we need him. The Lord strengthens us with all power through his glory so that we may have endurance and patience. Colossians 1:11. In Romans 12:12, “be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” The Lord works with us to provide us with the patience that we need for whatever we may endure. All we have to do is to continue to trust in him and he will guide us through. “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.” Psalm 37:7. In James 5:8, “you too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.” Why Do Christians and Non Christians Need Help From God?
