Peter said to him, “We have left all we had to follow you!” Luke 18:28 Surrendering to the will of God is the expectation of God from all His followers. He himself Has the Master plan of everyone’s life, and His plans are of peace and not of evil(Jeremiah 29:11) for us to function according to His plan for our life expected end. Our Lord Jesus Christ is a perfect example of total submission to God, he made a declaration that shows the secret of his strength, and how to continuously strong and victorious in the battles of life. In John 4:34, “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.” What does food do for our body? It gives us strength. It gives us all the vitamins, the proteins, and the energy that we need to keep us going. It boosts our immune system so we can overcome every sickness, every weakness, every virus, or germs that tries to attack our body and break us down. Moreover, food gives us pleasure. Every healthy person takes delight in eating good food. Looking at the message of Jesus in this scripture, what food does to our physical body is what doing God’s will and finishing His work does to our spiritual life and yes our entire life. What are some of the ways we can surrender our schedules to God? The number one way is to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Surrendering all to him means we have accepted his lordship and will believe in the salvation which is in him. We must be obedient, “If we are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land.” Isaiah 1:19 Be connected with Him through His word. ” I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path.” “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Psalm 119: 104-105 Prayer. Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought.” Luke 18:1-2. We must give the best of our time to prayer. Jesus led by example and we must follow suit according to the instruction He has given to us. Fellowship with children of God: “not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25 Today, decide to make your life a pleasurable, find out God’s plan for your life and let it be your delight in following God’s plan and schedule for you. Whatever is outside of God’s will for your life, as revealed in the words of God and by the Holy Spirit, stay out of it by all means. Let it be your joy and delight doing God’s work and to finish whatever assignment He has given to you, and you will find yourself going from glory to glory.

“And he said to them, ‘Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.’” Mark 16:15 Spreading the gospel can seem like a daunting task. Many of us are perfectly content to sit back and let the “professionals” take the lead – pastors, evangelists, well-trained Bible scholars. But the reality is that we are all called to be messengers of the gospel in some capacity. That doesn’t mean we have to preach from a pulpit or stand on a street corner. But it does mean that we should always be seeking to speak the gospel into someone’s life, using our unique gifts and circumstances. After all, we ourselves once walked in darkness and ignorance. Now that we have encountered such a great and priceless gift, how could we keep it to ourselves? If we truly believe that Jesus is the only way to eternal salvation, how could we withhold that knowledge from those who need to hear it? Spreading the gospel is essential to glorifying God, and it also brings us unmeasurable joy. So, what are some practical ways that we can spread the gospel? Share Your Testimony Many Christians worry about having the right answer for every argument, or being able to defend the Word of God against fierce cross-examination. But the truth is that souls are not persuaded by logic – they are persuaded by the Holy Spirit. For every fact you state, there will always be somebody to refute it. But the one thing that cannot be refuted is what God has personally done in your life. In Psalm 66:16, David says: “Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul.” Let that be our example; let us be eager to tell others of all that God has done for us. All of us can think of a time when God brought us through hardship, or blessed us in an unexpected way, or showed up for us in a difficult circumstance. That kind of testimony is powerful, and God can use it to draw others to Himself. Sometimes these conversations can be hard to initiate. That’s why it is critical to build deep relationships with the people in your life. Strong relationships open doors for you to be able to ask big questions about life and worldview. Strong relationships make it possible for people to trust you and know that your motivation is one of love, not judgment. So, pray for opportunities to have those important conversations. Pray for wisdom, and the Holy Spirit will give you the words you need to say. Pray that God would equip you to gladly share the gospel with anyone He places in your path – whether friend, stranger, or enemy. Serve the Local Church Although our testimony consists primarily of words, that isn’t the only part of it. The Bible tells us that every believer has been given spiritual gifts that enable him or her to serve the Church in a unique way. Sometimes advancing God’s mission doesn’t have to involve public speaking at all. In fact, speaking is only one of many gifts that God gives. If your gift is hospitality, delight in showing the love of Christ to newcomers and outsiders. If your gift is administration, delight in completing the day-to-day tasks that allow your church to operate. If your gift is discipleship, delight in helping other believers to grow in Christ. Each part of the Body of Christ is essential, and each promotes the spread of the gospel in some way. If nothing else, use an invitation to church as an avenue for your friends, family, and co-workers to come hear the Word of God. We advance God’s mission not only in formal encounters of sharing the gospel, but also by serving His Church – the embassy of God here on earth. Live It Out Matthew 5:16 says, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Pay close attention to the final part of that verse. Why do we perform good works? So that others may see and give glory to the Father – not us. Every time we help someone in need or display compassion, we are giving others a glimpse into God’s own heart. They witness a kind of pure goodness that cannot come from human righteousness, but only a divine source. When spreading the gospel, our approach should not simply be to assault others with empty words and judgments. Our actions are how we show that we believe what we preach. They show that our faith motivates us to act in ways that we otherwise would not. They show that the gospel leads to life, justice, and mercy. Finally, recognize that spreading the gospel should start in our immediate environment – but it shouldn’t end there. In Acts 1:8, Jesus tells the Apostles, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Jerusalem – where the disciples were staying at the time. Judea – the surrounding region. Samaria – a more distant region where very few Jews dared to travel. And the end of the earth – an expanse of land that knows no bounds. Today in the 21st century, the name of Jesus is known in more places than ever before. But in some parts of the world, there are still tribes and cultures in which people have little or no access to the gospel. We should be praying, giving, and – if possible – actively working to bring the gospel to these peoples. Because the gospel is not for us only; it is for all who will receive and believe it. For God desires that none shall perish, but that all would reach repentance and have eternal life in Him 2 Peter 3:9.

To seek something is an attempt to find that thing. It is to search, hunt, look around or about for something. The word “seek” implies that something is lost or not at our disposal. We don’t have what we seek which informs the need to find it. Matthew 7:8 says, “…the one who seeks finds…” Juxtaposing the definition of seek with the topic at hand, seek the Lord, one is poised to ask, Is the Lord lost? Why do we need to seek Him? This brings to mind an interesting incidence in the Scriptures. When Jesus was 12, He went to Jerusalem with His earthly parents for the annual Passover Conference, but when it was time to return home, Jesus stayed back in Jerusalem. His parents assumed he was in the company of their relatives and acquaintances until they got home and realized He was nowhere to be found. “So, when they did not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking Him,” Luke 2: 45. They found Him in the temple after three strenuous days of anxious search. Mary asked Him, “Son, why have You done this to us? Look, your father and I have sought You anxiously.” Who was actually lost? The Lord who stayed at Jerusalem or his parents who travelled. Jesus’ response to His parent’s question provides us a clue to this question and an understanding of what it means to seek the Lord. Jesus said, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” The Lord cannot be lost. We are the ones who often travel through life without Him. Like Jesus’ earthly parents, we often assume that He is with us when we have actually ran ahead of Him. We take decisions and venture into our own plans without consulting Him only to realize that we missed Him. This is often what informs the need to seek Him just like the parents of Jesus did. What then does it mean to seek the Lord? To seek the Lord implies that we should focus on Him and not what we can get from Him. It is very easy to get preoccupied with our numerous needs especially in times of emergency. At such times, what drives us to pray is not our love for the Lord but our desperation to meet our needs. There is nothing wrong with asking Him to supply our needs but God doesn’t want us to have things at the expense of Him. The question to ask is, Will you still pray consistently and with the same intensity if all your needs are met? The answer to this question will give us a clue to the state of our hearts whether it is the Lord that we seek or what we can receive from Him. Things are only enjoyed when they are received and used in Him. When we are tempted to seek things at the expense of Him, this command comes handy and the Holy Spirit quietly whispers to our spirits, “Seek the Lord!” Let your focus and gaze be on Him. Seek the Lord! Seek the Lord implies that we shouldn’t find an alternative to Him. It is easy to quickly find an alternative solution to our problems when God seems to be slow. We are prone to find quick fixes when we are under pressure. We want to avoid God-ordained routes to success and breakthrough because it seems quite long and uncertain. At such moments, this command comes handy. We are reminded to seek the Lord; to stay with Him and hold on to Him until He comes through for us. Isaiah 31:1 says, “Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, or seek help from the Lord!” He doesn’t want anything to compete with His love and attention in our hearts. He wants undivided loyalty to Him. He wants us to seek Him. Seek the Lord is a call to persevere. The joy of seeking is finding. The search is a waste if we don’t find what we seek. Believers are becoming lazy. We pray but very few of us know how to pray until the answer is received. We don’t know how to wait on the Lord until He comes or responds from heaven. We don’t know how to wrestle in the Spirit until the victory is won. We give up after praying or waiting two or three days over a matter. We have forgotten that Anna, the prophetess, was waiting and seeking the Lord almost all her life. Moses spent forty days on the mountain twice seeking the Lord without food or water. In a world that’s full of noise and distraction, God looks for those who know how to withdraw and seek Him with reckless abandon; those who are ready to wait and wait on Him all the way until He shows up. “Look to the Lord and his strength, seek his face always.” 1 Chronicles 16:11 “I have the right to do anything, you say but not everything is beneficial. I have the right to do anything but not everything is constructive. No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.” 1 Corinthians 10:23-24

“For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2:6 The book of Proverbs overflows with verses about wisdom. The value of wisdom goes far beyond mere knowledge; it shows us how to make the right decisions and how to live our lives fruitfully, joyfully, and in a way that is pleasing to God. Wisdom is one of the most important things we could ever possess: so much so that when King Solomon had the opportunity to ask for anything, he chose only one thing: wisdom. So how do we receive such a priceless gift? We ask. James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” God is not stingy or hesitant to grant us the good, pure desires we ask for in faith. Now, it is clear that we are not to use God as a “blessing machine.” When we come to Him with requests, our first and greatest desire should be that they would lead us toward Him. We cannot manipulate God into getting everything we want, nor should we try. But more often, we tend to lean the other way. Many of us limit our requests to God for fear of reproach – fear that we will anger God or push His limits. This is not the picture that James paints of our gracious Creator. Our God is eager to grant wisdom to all who ask Him. The key here is faith. Matthew 7:7 says, “And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” Faith means trusting in what we cannot see. Some days we may feel foolish, naive, unsure of God’s will for our lives but, we must trust that God is watering the seed of wisdom within us, even during those times. So we must do our best to accommodate that process and not fight against it. We can’t pray for wisdom and continually make reckless decisions. We can’t hope to become wise while delighting in our foolish behavior. So how does God answer our prayer for wisdom? And how do we know when we have received it? For most of us, learning wisdom is a process – one that can often be painful. For example, we learn faith by going through seasons of doubt. We learn how to make the right decisions by suffering the consequences of wrong ones. Wisdom is always gained with experience, though not necessarily with age. We know that God has granted us wisdom when we are able to look clearly at a situation, see the will of God, and carry it out. We will never be perfect in this respect, however over time, we will go from a ship tossed about on the waves to one that is anchored to Christ in the middle of the storm, and all we have to do is ask.

How Can I Ask The Lord For Help When I Feel Emptiness?

Emptiness is that state in which we fail or have no emotion, interest or sense of purpose. Life has lost its substance and meaning, we feel dry within and without. We are not coordinated. We are not in charge. We are not present there is a disconnection from our true self. It is usually accompanied with feeling numb or alone. Work becomes unsatisfying. We feel unsuccessful. Nothing is exciting. Our relationships are unfulfilling. When there is prolonged feeling of emptiness, it might lead to further psychological complications. This is why it must be addressed as soon as possible. How then can I ask the Lord for help when I feel empty? Acknowledge the feeling of emptiness. Be sincere enough to identify how you feel. Don’t deny it. That will be synonymous to self-deception. God cannot help you when you are not open hearted. There is nothing to hide from him. He knows and understands how us far more than we understand ourselves. So, it is in our best interest to acknowledge and own up sincerely to Him about how we have been feeling. Remember it is a feeling. Feelings are temporary. They are often based on certain transient circumstances. You should never allow a short term situation leave a permanent damage on your life. Learn to live by faith not feeling. Feed on the Word. Emptiness indicates a vacuum. Fill that space with the word. Come to His table and feast on the bread of life. As you feed on the word, you’ll be filled. You will soon realize that that inner space has been occupied by His word. This is why the scripture says, “…man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” Matthew 4:4. In other words, His word is a kind of bread but it does not fill our stomach. We feed our inner being when we feed on His word. Spend time in His presence. It is in His presence that we trade our sorrows for His joy, our ashes for His beauty, our sicknesses for His healing, our lack for His wealth and our emptiness for His infilling. Spending quality time in His presence is the fastest way to get rid of our feeling of emptiness. As a matter of fact all the other principles are better expressed in the place of prayer. Hangout and speak with trusted leaders and friends. Whatever God wants to do for you will be done through men. When He wanted to save us, He had to come through and in form of a Man, Jesus Christ. Sometimes, we may never be able to get over our feeling of emptiness until we share with fellow men. God can use them to help us see our situations with a positive perspective thus relieving us of our emptiness. We don’t have to remain empty if we can trust Him and cast all our cares on Him. The Lord is always there to help us out. As Corrie ten Boom said, “There is no pit so deep, that He is not deeper still; with Jesus even in our darkest moments, the best remains and the very best is yet to be.” We can go to Him for help in our times of need. Why Do Christians and Non Christians Need Help From God?

“Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.” 1 Samuel 12:24 In our Christian walk, it’s natural to wonder if we are serving God in the best way we possibly can. After all, He has given us everything, including eternal life through His Son; the least we can do is devote our lives to Him. But as time goes on, we can find ourselves doubting whether we are following God’s will to its fullest extent. Maybe you’re at a crossroads in your life and are unsure which choice will glorify God the most. Maybe you’ve been teaching the same Sunday school class for years, and you feel like you’ve just hit a wall. Or maybe you’re involved in so many ministries that you wonder if you’re doing any good at all. No matter the situation, all that we truly want to do is to live a life that is pleasing to God. So how can we serve God better? One of the most powerful and tangible ways to serve God is to serve His people. Mark 10:45 reminds us, “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Jesus spent His ministry healing the sick, caring for the outcasts, and teaching them the truth of God in love and He showed us the ultimate example of servitude by taking the excruciating pain of the cross for our sake. When we show love and compassion to those around us, we are reflecting the perfect character of our Creator. We are pointing the entire world to His goodness, and that should be our objective as servants of Christ. Of course, the most loving thing we can do for others is to share the Gospel. Matthew 5:16 instructs us, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” While meeting the physical needs of people is important and honorable, we must not neglect to give them the greatest treasure of all – Christ. When we reach out in love and make disciples, we are fulfilling our most important purpose in this life – to know God and to make Him known. Finally, the measure of our service toward God is how we live our everyday lives. Galatians 5:22-23 says, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, our lives will show it. We will treat our families with respect. We will deal with conflict with wisdom and patience. We will exercise forgiveness, even when it hurts. In other words, we will become more like Christ and when we seek Him, serving God will become not a burden, but a joy.
