Depending on the Lord is the paramount thing to every Christian. He is the source of our life, He is the reason we are saved. The Lord knows the best, He has been in existence before us so He knows the right thing for us Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. We, therefore, must not depend on our own power, Proverbs 3:5 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” A new life begins when we surrender everything including our life to Christ. Firstly, you should know that surrendering your life to Christ means you believe in Him for direction in life. You let the flesh step down for the new life in Christ to take over, ” Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old one has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17. You used to depend on your limited powers before, but now the life you have you must depend on the Lord alone for the true direction. In the course of depending on God, should we now be lazy not doing anything or expecting God to come down himself and do things for us? Even though God, being the Almighty, has the power to do that but still, He wants us to work and then depend on Him for a positive result James 2:26 “As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.” Let’s consider Joshua, he was told by God never to worry on how to lead the Israelites Joshua 1:5-9, God’s encouragement alone can make Joshua relax and hope God will come down to fight their battles while just sitting down and not strategizing. Jesus also, depending on God didn’t for that reason jump down from the top of the temple when Satan instructed him to. If depending on God is the paramount thing for Christians and yet for the fact that you are depending on God, you must still work your way and never act in a foolish manner, then how can you depend on Him? Surrender To Christ and Follow Him You cannot just depend on the LORD by saying alone but by taking actions that show that you depend on Him which include surrendering to Him. You must let Him know that you have no power of your own and now you want to depend on Him for the best. You cannot deceive God by just saying you depend on Him with your mouth and not with your heart Job 13:9,“Would it turn out well if He examined you? Could you deceive Him as you might deceive a mortal?” Dwell in Christ After surrendering to Christ, you must remain in Him. Doing this helps to boost your trust in Him. Jesus himself said we should abide in Him always John 15:4. The reason for this is because abiding in Him means we are depending on Him for safety Psalm 91:1; Psalm 121. It is when we abide in Him that He will fulfill all He has promised in us. Deeds and Faith. You may be wondering why deeds has to be included. Deeds follows faith, they are together because the Bible stated that “As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.” James 2:26. As depending on God is necessary for this Christian journey so also having faith is. If you don’t have faith in God, then you cannot depend on him. So to depend on God you must have faith in him and believe he rewards those that seek Him diligently Hebrews 11:6 “And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” Obey His Word and Claim The Promises In It The word of God is full of promises and also meant to correct us, it is a manual guide to us. The Scripture is God-breathed 2 Timothy 3:16 and we must read it. God ordered Joshua to read this word daily so as to have good success, He knew reading the word would make him depend on God for good success. Watch and Pray Prayer is a way to communicate with God, it is a connection that we must maintain. When you pray, you show that you’re depending on him for whatever you ask from Him. Jesus wants to boost our dependence on God when he said “pray continually” 1 Thessalonians 5:17. It not good enough to pray alone, that is why Jesus advised in Matthew 26:41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” This helped Jesus when he was tempted by Satan to jump from the top of the temple, if He had not watched and observed, He could have fallen for it because it is written “He will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, that you do not strike your foot against a stone.” Psalm 91:11. Jesus could have, for the sake of depending on God, fell for it but He watched. Give Thanks in All Circumstances In whatever situation you find yourself, don’t stop giving thanks. Thank Him for what He has done and for the ones He will do. By doing that you are depending much more on Him. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Occasionally, believers get into the discussion about whether water baptism is necessary or not. The point of debate is whether it has anything to do with our salvation since all we have to do is confess our sins and put our faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Meanwhile, several scriptural references compellingly show us the significance of water baptism in connection to our faith in Jesus Christ. Water baptism is the process of immersing someone who has professed his or her faith in Jesus Christ in a large pool of water and bringing out the person after being completely submerged. It is an important practice in Christianity and part of the public identification process with the Body of Christ. Baptism signifies your new life in Jesus Christ and proclaims that you are now committed to Jesus. The following are some of the reasons, as seen in the scriptures, why every believer in Jesus Christ should be baptized: Jesus’ Example Jesus Himself was baptized in water by John the Baptist, setting an example for all believers. In Matthew 3:13-17, Jesus came to John to be baptized, saying it was necessary to “fulfil all righteousness.” His baptism marked the beginning of His public ministry, symbolizing His identification with humanity’s need for repentance and righteousness. Recall that John the Baptist was preaching the message of repentance and it was those who were turning away from their sins that got baptized. If Jesus, who knew no sin, deemed it necessary to be baptized, how much should every believer who is being saved from sin go through the process of baptism? The Great Commission Jesus didn’t just set the example of baptism by going through it, He commands everyone who believes in Him to observe it. In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus commands His disciples to “make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” This command shows that baptism is part of the process of becoming a disciple of Christ, symbolizing entrance into the Christian community. Therefore, when someone decides to undergo baptism, the individual is obeying the commandment of Jesus Christ. In John 14:15, Jesus says, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” It will be bizarre to be a believer in Jesus Christ and live in disobedience to His unambiguous commandment. Baptism, being one of His commands, is an expression of love and obedience to Him. The Apostles and the Early Church Observed Baptism The apostles and the early church fathers observed baptism as an act of obedience to the commandment of Jesus Christ to baptize anyone who believes. There are at least eight instances of water baptism in the Acts of the Apostles. They include; The Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:38-41) The Samaritans (Acts 8:12-13) The Ethiopian Eunuch (Acts 8:36-38) Saul/Paul (Acts 9:17-18) Cornelius and His Household (Acts 10:47-48) Lydia and Her Household (Acts 16:14-15) The Philippian Jailer and His Household (Acts 16:31-33) The Disciples of John in Ephesus (Acts 19:3-5) These instances in Acts demonstrate the early church’s consistent practice of water baptism as a response to faith in Jesus Christ. Identification with Christ’s Death and Resurrection In Romans 6:3-4, Paul explains that baptism symbolizes the believer’s identification with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. Being submerged in water represents dying to sin, and coming up out of the water symbolizes being raised to new life in Christ. Repentance and Forgiveness In Acts 2:38, Peter tells the crowd, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Baptism is associated with repentance, the forgiveness of sins, and the reception of the Holy Spirit. Union with Christ In Galatians 3:27, the Bible says, “For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.” Baptism is a public declaration of faith in Jesus and symbolizes the believer’s union with Him. Baptism Is Connected To Salvation In 1 Peter 3:20-21, Peter described how the family of Noah was saved through the water of the flood. Then, he went on to say, “Those flood waters were like baptism that now saves you…” All of the examples of baptism listed in Acts were connected to the moment when people got saved. In Mark 16:16, Jesus said, “He who believes and is baptized will be saved…” While salvation in Jesus Christ is rooted in our faith in His finished work on the cross, baptism in water is a very strong component of it. A Clear Conscience Also, 1 Peter 3:21 describes baptism as “an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.” It is a public expression of faith and an inward appeal to God for a clear conscience, made possible by the resurrection of Jesus. Baptism Can Open Up Other Spiritual Blessings Matthew 3:16 says, “When He (Jesus) had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.” Not only that, a voice from heaven followed that confirmed Jesus as the Son of God. One is poised to ask why the blessing of the Holy Spirit was withheld until the moment Jesus got baptized. In Acts 2:28, Peter also said that when people repent and are baptized, they will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Perhaps, certain spiritual blessings cannot be accessed without baptism. In summary, baptism is an important step of obedience, symbolizing a believer’s identification with Christ, the forgiveness of sins, and a new life in Him. It is a public declaration of faith and commitment to following Jesus. Yes, baptism doesn’t necessarily save us; faith in Jesus is what saves but you shouldn’t deliberately ignore baptism if you are saved.

As believers, we have been called and commissioned to preach the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to every nation. Jesus Christ died and rose again so that every human being can find salvation in the living God. “…by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole… Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” Acts 4:10,12. However, it can be tough and tiring getting people to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Many believers have given up on the preaching of the gospel especially as the world is becoming more intolerant. Nevertheless, we must obey the Lord. We must preach the gospel. We must rescue the perishing from the coming damnation and Jesus is the only way. Here are a few tips that will help you in encouraging people to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and become saved: Understand that Getting People Saved is a Spiritual Battle. Satan doesn’t want people to get saved. He will do everything to make sure your efforts are futile. He will becloud and confuse the person that you are trying to convince. 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 says, “…if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.” You are not just dealing with humans but the spiritual forces behind the resistance to the gospel message you have brought to them. Note that the god of this age blinds the mind of those who do not believe. So, there is a spiritual undertone behind the things we often tag as psychological or intellectual battles. If you have this understanding, you will not allow their indifference to discourage you. Understand that it takes the Power of the Holy Spirit to get people saved. The Holy Spirit is the One who convicts people of their sins and convinces them to make Jesus their Lord and Saviour. Speaking of the Holy Spirit, Jesus said, “And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged” John 16:8-11. Getting people genuinely saved cannot be a product of eloquence or oratory powers. If a person’s faith is based on fancy talks, it will not survive the tests and trials of time. Pray a lot and earnestly for the People You Are Encouraging to Make a Decision for Jesus. Mention the names of people that you have been speaking to in prayer. Break the veil of sin and Satan over their souls as you ask the light of God to shine through their hearts. Ask the Holy Spirit to illuminate their hearts. Your encouragement can only work as far as you have done private interceding for them. Bringing people to salvation is like giving birth to children, you will go through labor pains in prayer. Paul understood this. He said, “My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you” Galatians 4:19. Live an exemplary life. Your life is the most powerful tool for telling people about Jesus. It is the primary way you encourage people to accept the gift of salvation in Jesus Christ. People will be forced to ask about your faith when you convincingly and consistently live a life of integrity. While we must evangelize by our lips, it is far more important that we do it by our lives. The words in our mouths are as powered as the integrity of our lives. Your words will be weak and you may even stammer if you are not living up to what you preach. Peter wasn’t preaching when someone identified him as a follower of Jesus. Do you have such a powerful life that people can see the glory of God in your life without preaching? Share your testimonies. Let the story of what Jesus is doing in your life be in your mouth all the time. It is an indirect way of encouraging people to accept the gift of salvation. Be intentional about this; acknowledging the power of Jesus in bringing about your breakthroughs. Invite them to meetings where they can hear God’s word. If there are special programs or Christian gatherings where the people you have been encouraging to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, invite them to such meetings. Most of the time, the atmosphere and the anointing that comes with special programs often facilitate the ability of people to decide to follow Jesus. Many believers today got saved in crusades, conferences or special programs. Be patient with them. Don’t give up because you are not getting any results despite your efforts in encouraging people to accept Jesus Christ. You are not the Saviour. You are only an instrument in God’s hand for saving them. All you can do is patiently keep waiting and trusting God that someday, they will come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Focus on doing your best while you trust God to do the rest. Trust God for Healing, Miracles, Signs and Wonders. People hardly resist the message of salvation when it is accompanied by an obvious display of the power and superiority of God over sicknesses, diseases and situations. They are part of the equipment God has given to us to carry out the great commission effectively. And you don’t have to be a special minister of God to be used in performing miracles, signs and wonders. God promises that “these signs will follow those who believe” Mark 16:17. Once you are a believer, you are qualified to carry out signs and wonders in Jesus’ name. After Jesus brought back Lazarus to life, the Bible declares that “…on account of him many of the Jews went away and believed in Jesus” John 12:11. God wants people to be saved. He never gives up on anyone! We must have the same commitment to every soul God has shown us. May God make us fishers of men and women!

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27 At any given point in life due to the circumstances of life, one may find themselves in deep worry. This can happen to both believers and non-believers, but does God want us to live a life full of worry? God has spoken in His word in several scriptures about us worrying about life. Instead, God needs us to completely trust in Him and His promises concerning our lives. God has promised us peace that when we obtain, we will live lives that are free from worry and anxiety. Did you know that most of the time when the word peace is mentioned it can be easily mistaken with the absence of tribulations or war? However, look at what Jesus Christ spoke to His disciples while promising them His peace. “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 The perfect peace that God gives is only found in Christ Jesus, it is the kind of peace in the midst of tribulations. As Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace, and apart from Him there is no peace. What the governments and the humanitarian organizations preach as peace is only the peace of this world that is temporary but the perfect peace is only found in Christ Jesus. “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27. The question should be how can one obtain this kind of peace? The first step for one to experience this kind of peace is first placing their faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work of the cross to get born again. But how is this kind of peace related to what I may be passing through? Does it mean that when we get born again, we will never experience tribulations? One thing that everyone born in this world should understand is that everyone born in this world is born with a sinful nature that makes them have enmity with God. This is because of the single act of one man known as Adam. “Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.” Romans 5:18 From the above scripture we see that just by a single act of disobedience from one man known as Adam, judgment came to all men resulting in condemnation. Apostle Paul through the revelation of Jesus Christ clearly shows us the state of a man who is not yet born again. Just look at the description below. “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.” Ephesians 2:1-3 Before one believes in Christ Jesus he is termed as dead and by nature is a child of wrath. At this stage, one is in enmity with God. Just as Apostle Paul writes in another place like this; “And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled.” Colossians 1:21 The secret is this, for one to experience the perfect peace they must first make peace with God. This is by no other means but believing in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross and being born again. This is what Apostle Paul when writing to the church in Rome refers to as reconciliation through the death of the Son of God. “For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.” Romans 5:10 All this process of reconciling man to God is entirely the work of God, who is motivated by His mercies and love by sending His only Son to die on the cross and pay the penalty of sin and reconcile man back to God. “Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 Now Christ came to preach peace that those who believe in the Son of God are forgiven their sins and justified freely by His blood. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. “And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.” Ephesians 2:14-18 Someone may be asking, how does the peace with God help in bringing peace to our lives? Most of the time when we are facing spiritual warfare that is when we are having challenges in our lives, we can easily conclude that God is punishing us and He is mad at us maybe because of the sins we might have committed and this is the greatest tool of the enemy. The enemy will always wait when you are passing through difficult times in life and whisper to you that all what you are passing through is because of the sins that you have committed and that God is against you. This is why when Paul is writing to the church in Ephesus about putting on the whole armor of God, he reminds them that their minds should be prepared and armed with the gospel of peace that says; “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?” Romans 8:31:35 This means that there should be nothing or no situation that we may be passing through that should ever make us get worried and doubt the love of God. God is assuring us in His word that we have peace with Him because we have been justified by faith and there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:1-2 When we develop this mentality, we will walk with boldness even in the midst of challenges and tribulations knowing well that in all these things “we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” Romans 8:37. That instead of living a life full of worries, we should instead cast all our cares and burdens unto Him for the Lord God cares for us. Finally, we will develop a kind of peace that no human mind can understand. We will always remain calm without worry even in the midst of a storm knowing that He who promised is faithful and it shall all come to pass if we keep on trusting in Him. This will enable us to enter into the peace of God which is able to guide our hearts and minds from worrying. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. “Philippians 4:6-7

The world is less peaceful today than at any time in the last decade especially with the outbreak of Coronavirus. Along with the pandemic comes economic instability, addiction, suicide and more. There is civil unrest in other parts of the world. Our world is filled with so much hatred, racism, and all kinds of evil. Even in nations where there seems to be relative peace, individuals are not so happy due to one reason or the other. A lot of people are quietly battling with depression, panic, worry and anxiety-induced disorders. Yet, God’s will is for us to experience peace on every side of our lives. “Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16 Jesus promised us peace in John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.” If we aren’t experiencing peace always and in every way, we need to ask how does God want us to be at peace? Peace With God Being at peace with God is the password to experiencing peace in every way. Without having peace with God, there cannot be peace in other aspects of our lives. Naturally, every man was born with a broken relationship with God. Sin disrupted the peaceful relationship that existed between us and God before the fall. But when we fell into sin, we lost that peace. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 The experience of Adam and Eve after they ate the forbidden fruit is a prototype of the condition of every man still living in sin. They lost their peace. They became restless. They had to find a place to hide from God. But everything changed when Jesus came to the world and died for our sins. He died to restore the peace we lost in Eden. Romans 5:1 says, “We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” “for He is our peace” Ephesians 2:14. Isaiah prophesied that He would be called the Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 It is impossible to experience true peace without a living relationship with Jesus. Peace With Others Seeking to live in peace with others is an indication that we have secured peace with God. A man who walks in peace with God will live in peace with his neighbors. There is a great connection between our relationship with God and other men. Jesus teaches that having an unsettled matter with someone will hinder fellowship with God. “Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First, be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.” Matthew 5:23-24 This is why Paul wrote to the Romans and said, “If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.” Romans 12:18 Hebrews 12:14 says, “Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.” We cannot hope to possibly live in peace when others are hurting because of our action. Peace With Self So many people lack inner peace. They are always overwhelmed, anxious or depressed and discouraged. To experience peace with self; We must reconcile with God and men. We are bound to experience peace automatically when we live in peace with God and fellow men. We must also be spiritually minded to consistently maintain a peaceful life. “For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” Romans 8:6 This implies walking in the Spirit and resisting everything attempt from the enemy to steal the peace of God in our minds. Peace, according to Galatians 5:22, is the fruit of the Spirit. It also implies we would give ourselves to private personal prayer and meditation on God’s word. If we do these, “the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7. God has made abundant provision for us in His word for us to experience absolute peace. If we aren’t experiencing peace, it is because we are not taking advantage of the provision of God. “May the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” Romans 10:17 Faith is a central theme all throughout the Bible, and it’s easy to see why. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as, “the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Faith is a genuine confidence in God in the midst of uncertainty. It’s absolutely essential to the Christian life; without faith, we are like ships tossed about on the stormy seas of life. So where does faith come from? Paul’s answer in the book of Romans is surprisingly straightforward from the Word of God. You might be tempted to wonder, “How can words on a page make a difference in my life?” When we read the Bible, we are not merely reading a good story. We are reading firsthand accounts of God’s faithfulness toward His people, across time and space. The God that delivered Daniel from the lions’ den, gave David victory over Goliath, and raised Jesus from the dead – that’s the same God who we put our trust in today. Experiencing these testimonies in scripture is a powerful way to dispel any doubt in our hearts. Even better, God’s Word has the power to speak directly into our lives. Through the divinely inspired words of scripture, the Holy Spirit shapes the way we live and interact with the world around us. The more we grow in our walk with God, the more we learn to trust in Him. Faith is not something that comes naturally to us. Sometimes it takes a lot of living and learning and maturing as believers in order to truly build our faith. The Bible teaches us how to experience God more fully in that way. Our experiences themselves, whether positive or negative, have the potential to bring us into a deeper relationship with Christ. If you ever doubt God’s goodness, just think back on all that He has brought you through. Remember the lessons He has taught you, the trials He has delivered you from, and His promise to never leave or forsake you. So, while God’s Word gives us the foundation for our faith, our own experiences grow that faith. Finally, if we lack faith, we should ask God. In Matthew 7:7-8, Jesus says, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” Often, we shy away from asking God for our desires for fear of rejection, but this is not the picture of God that we see in scripture. We don’t have to be afraid or hesitant. We have a Heavenly Father who loves us and delights in giving us more of Himself. When we call upon Him, He will not deny us the thing we need most faith in Him. How Do The Desires of Daily Living Take Control of Our Heart From God?
“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31 The Bible makes it clear that we are commanded to love one another. Love is the driving force behind our entire faith, the reason for everything we do. Every Christian knows that they should love. But sometimes it can be hard to discern just how to love. How can we fulfill this commandment in our everyday lives? We can start by looking to the example of Christ and love others as He has loved us. So how can we emulate Jesus in the ways that we love each other? Love Unconditionally 1 Peter 4:8: “Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.” The love that God shows us is unconditional – it never leaves us, no matter how far we stray from Him. In the same manner, we are meant to love those around us. We are all imperfect, bound to make mistakes and hurt each other in the process. But 1 Peter tells us that love is strong enough to cover those sins. Love can overcome any wrongdoing. Instead of bearing grudges or holding onto anger, we should be asking for God’s grace to help us look past all human flaws. Love Without Expecting Anything in Return Luke 6:35: “But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.” It’s easy to love someone when it’s beneficial to us. But what about when there’s the possibility that we might never be rewarded? Think of Jesus; He healed the sick, the crippled, and many others who came to Him. What could these people have done to repay Him? What could they have given Him that He did not already have? Pure love does not expect anything in return; it simply rejoices in the act of giving. Love With Action 1 John 3:18: “Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” It’s important to express love verbally; all throughout the Bible we see the power of words. Words are vitally important for building each other up in encouragement. But love goes far beyond words. For instance, if you say you love orphans and widows while ignoring the ones in your own community, do you truly love them? When we say we love someone, we show that we mean it by caring for their practical and spiritual needs, as best as we can. Love involves offering our own time and resources to someone in need, out of pure compassion. Love is action. How Do The Desires of Daily Living Take Control of Our Heart From God? Why Do Christians and Non Christians Need Help From God?

Guest Contributor Pastor Dalarian’s Message November 4, 2018 I was sitting in my room when the Holy Ghost said to me my child, I answered what Lord? Then the small voice said do you love me? I answered yes Lord you know that without a shadow of a doubt Lord. Then, the Lord said, what are you doing to help win souls for my kingdom? I answered everything I know I can do with your help Lord, then the Lord said are you still living holy? I said I think so, then He said you think so? Lord, I go to church and I pray sometimes when I have time. Then the Lord said that’s not going to work and I said why not Lord? The Lord said, did I say that on the cross when I have time and also in the kingdom of God when I have time? Then He said okay, I understand that you don’t understand what my kingdom is about, so I’m going to tell you why you should have time for me because I’m God. God said I’m the light of the world and in me there is no darkness, I made everything for myself. I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, I am the spoken word that started life, I AM GOD! If you say that you have fellowship with me Jesus, and you walk in darkness and you lie then the truth is not in you. However, if you walk in the light, then you have fellowship with me and the blood of Jesus cleanses you from all sins. I’m an all Loving GOD, that’s why I gave my only begotten son for you. You need to stop being religions minded and live for me all the time not some of the time, your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Because I am an all knowing God, I can’t work in you if you are not holy because of sin, I have given you a new life that is attached to the heart and soul not for just when you need me because I’m God. Then God said to me, seek he first the kingdom of heaven and all these things shall be added unto you. The scripture says in Matthew 13:19 “When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by way side.” We need to live a holy life, that keeps us in true relationship with God and we will grow in grace and in knowledge. In 2 Peter 3:17-18, “Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever.” Knowledge keeps satan from coming to steal the word of God from you. God said, I hope you get it now I have made a way for all of my people, you are now part of his kingdom. It should feel so good to know that when you are in Christ you have a sealed close up for the Lord. In Ephesians 1:13 “ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.” I’m thankful that God loves us like his son. Now that he has given us the power to overcome this evil world by the word of God. The word of God says, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8.31. We need to understand that God has given us the power to stand. Romans 13:1-2, “Let every soul be subject unto the higher power. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damination. Amen.

Peter said to him, “We have left all we had to follow you!” Luke 18:28 Surrendering to the will of God is the expectation of God from all His followers. He himself Has the Master plan of everyone’s life, and His plans are of peace and not of evil for us to function according to His plan for our life expected end, Jeremiah 29:11. Our Lord Jesus Christ is a perfect example of total submission to God, he made a declaration that shows the secret of his strength, and how to continuously strong and victorious in the battles of life. In John 4:34, “My food, said Jesus, is to do the will of Him who sent me and to finish his work.” What does food do for our body? It gives us strength. It gives us all the vitamins, the proteins, and the energy that we need to keep us going. It boosts our immune system so we can overcome every sickness, every weakness, every virus, or germs that tries to attack our body and break us down. Moreover, food gives us pleasure. Every healthy person takes delight in eating good food. Looking at the message of Jesus in this scripture, what food does to our physical body is what doing God’s will and finishing His work does to our spiritual life and yes our entire life. What are some of the ways we can surrender our schedules to God? The number one way is to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Surrendering all to him means we have accepted his lordship and will believe in the salvation which is in him. We must be obedient, “If we are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land.” Isaiah 1:19 Be connected with Him through His word. ” I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path.” “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Psalm 119: 104-105 Prayer. Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought.” Luke 18:1-2. We must give the best of our time to prayer. Jesus led by example and we must follow suit according to the instruction He has given to us. Fellowship with children of God: “not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25 Today, decide to make your life a pleasurable, find out God’s plan for your life and let it be your delight in following God’s plan and schedule for you. Whatever is outside of God’s will for your life, as revealed in the words of God and by the Holy Spirit, stay out of it by all means. Let it be your joy and delight doing God’s work and to finish whatever assignment He has given to you, and you will find yourself going from glory to glory.
